Second Year, First Semester Studio Project.

The brief was to create a proposal for a mountain bike centre in Kirkhill Forest, just outside of Aberdeen. The Concept behind this proposal was to separate the functions of the mountain bike centre into two buildings. One building contained all of the cycling related functions (Bike Shop, Changing Facilities) whilst the other building contained the pedestrian facilities (Cafe, Toilets, Education Spaces and Offices).

This took advantage of the site as it allowed the cafe better views and the bike facilities easy access due to their levels. The enclosed space created by the buildings houses a pump track.  The two buildings are joined by a wide bridge that creates a viewing space as well as linking the spaces together.
